Ubisoft has released a teaser trailer for their latest shooter Ghost Recon: Future Soldier.
The trailer doesn’t show any form of gameplay, though a release window of fall 2010 was given. We were also given a hint of stealth technology being present in the game.
Better late than never. It’s Direct2Drive’s 5th year anniversary. And to commemorate the occassion, they are selling some of their titles for $5 for 5 weeks. Every week, they’re lining up a different set of games to sell for $5. It started last week featuring lineups of Ubisoft games and strategy games. This week, it’s Action/FPS week and the likes of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena, Bioshock, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. are up for $5. On the following weeks D2D is lining up MMOs and RPGs, indie games, and war games on the last week. If you’re interested in buying, visit the website and shell out some of those spare moolah you have.
If you haven’t heard yet, Disney has acquired Marvel for a hefty price of $4 billion. What could this mean to the Marvel Universe? Could it be sprinkled with a bit of Disney Magic dust? I most certainly hope not, at least not from a creative standpoint. Business-wise, I guess I have no complaints. Disney has been very successful pushing their products into the limelight and making lots of moolah. Just to name a few, we have Toy Story, The Incredibles, and Finding Nemo. I just hope Disney gives Marvel enough autonomy to continue their creative work – please don’t make it kiddy-like. If you want more info, read this announcement.
Anyway, the announcement spawned several ideas off of the interwebs as of late, and the one that really piqued my interest is the Marvel vs. Disney fighting game. LOL. A lot of dream match-ups were made sporting the funniest rivalries in VS. history; Ironman vs. Gizmoduck, Wolverine vs. Mickey Mouse, The Hulk vs. Goofy. Anyway, here’s a few of my own that I can throw in:

After months and months of denying and it even came to a point that not commenting on a video that shows, Sony finally introduces the long-rumored PS3 Slim (im sure each and everyone is expecting this rumor to be confirmed but hey, at least it’s official). Since almost all of the Playstation models from PS1 were cut down into slimmer models, it’s safe to say that yeah, this one is coming along. Also, the long awaited price cut was made. It will only sell at $299.
In other news, they also announced their answer to the Appstore and DSi ware. Behold, the “PS Minis” Basically, the games will be available over the Playstation Network store and you can download these games over to your PSP and PSP Go! The games would weigh in at least not more than 100MB, which is perfect for those of you looking for quality budget games at a small size.
If I were a Star Wars character, I’d be a Jedi. If I had my own star fighter, I’d pilot an X-Wing. If I had a female Jedi apprentice, I’d have Scarlett Johansson, or maybe Hwang Mi Hee, or maybe even both! Anyway, the Jedi apprentice is actually irrelevant in this post. But one thing’s for sure, the old LucasArts game X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter is one hell of a space simulator way back in the 90’s.
According to a post in the G4 website, in an interview with LucasArts president Darell Rodriguez, a hint of the old title being re-released was mentioned. Darell said: “”We don’t have any announcements now, but stay tuned. We will soon..” Soon is a very vague word so there’s no real date as to when such an announcement is to be made. But in any case, a re-release of the X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter game is something I can certainly look forward to.
