Disney Bought Marvel for $4 Billion

If you haven’t heard yet, Disney has acquired Marvel for a hefty price of $4 billion. What could this mean to the Marvel Universe? Could it be sprinkled with a bit of Disney Magic dust? I most certainly hope not, at least not from a creative standpoint. Business-wise, I guess I have no complaints. Disney has been very successful pushing their products into the limelight and making lots of moolah. Just to name a few, we have Toy Story, The Incredibles, and Finding Nemo. I just hope Disney gives Marvel enough autonomy to continue their creative work – please don’t make it kiddy-like. If you want more info, read this announcement.

Anyway, the announcement spawned several ideas off of the interwebs as of late, and the one that really piqued my interest is the Marvel vs. Disney fighting game. LOL. A lot of dream match-ups were made sporting the funniest rivalries in VS. history; Ironman vs. Gizmoduck, Wolverine vs. Mickey Mouse, The Hulk vs. Goofy. Anyway, here’s a few of my own that I can throw in:

  • Beast (from X-Men) vs. The Beast (from Beauty and the Beast) subtitled “Who’s the real Beast?”
  • Mr. Fantastic vs. Elastigirl (from The Incredibles) subtitled “Stretch Me Baby!”
  • Namor vs. Nemo (from Finding Nemo) subtitled “Finding Namor’s Nemo.”
  • Ant Man vs. Zipper (Little green fly from Rescue Rangers) subtitled “Bzzzt!”
  • Deadpool vs. Donald Duck subtitled “Battle of the Blabbermouths!”
  • Wasp vs. Tinkerbell subtitled “Femme Petite!”
  • Spiderman vs. Winnie the Pooh subtitled “Which is More Sticky, Web or Honey?”
  • Aunt May vs. Evil Stepmother subtitled “Wrinkles of the Future!”
  • Apocalypse vs. Bambi subtitled “WTF?!?”
  • Mandarin vs. Jafar (from Alladin) subtitled “Battle of the Moustache.”
  • Daredevil vs. Darkwing Duck subtitled “The Night is Young.”
  • Omega Red vs. Ursula (from Little Mermaid) subtitled “Day of The Tentacles.”
  • The X-Men vs. The Cast of High School Musical subtitled “Xavier School Musical.”
  • Ultron vs. WALL-E subtitled “Directive?”
